3.5-inch SBC controls dual displays with AMD’s dual-core G-Series chip
Jun 6, 2011 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 6 viewsAxiomtek announced a 3.5-inch single board computer equipped with a 1.65GHz, dual-core AMD G-Series T56N processor and up to 4GB DDR3 RAM. The Capa110 supports HD video and dual-display capability via DisplayPort and VGA connectors, provides real-world dual gigabit Ethernet and dual USB 2.0 ports, and has onboard interfaces including serial, LVDS, SATA, and four more USB ports.
The Capa110 is the first AMD Fusion-powered member of Axiomtek's family of "Capa" single board computers (SBCs). Like the Capa801 announced in February with an Intel Atom N455, D425, or D525 processor, the SBC adopts the "3.5-inch" format, which measures 5.75 x 4.09 inches.
The Capa110 shares many of the Capa801's features, but instead of using an Atom, it loads up a dual-core AMD G-Series T56N processor, clocked here at 1.65GHz.

Available with up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, the Capa110 offers a CompactFlash slot, as well as dual SATA ports available via onboard headers, says the company. As with the Capa801, a Mini-PCI Express slot is said to be offered for expansion.

Onboard headers provide access to three powered RS-232 interfaces, as well as a powered RS-232/422/485 connection. Other I/O is said to include eight-channel digital I/O, SMBus, as well as audio I/O, supported by an HD codec. Hardware monitoring and a watchdog timer are also said to be available. The Capa110 supports temperatures ranging from 32 to 140 deg. F, says Axiomtek.
