Win Enterprises announced a fanless box computer designed for a variety of embedded applications. The PL-80190 is equipped with an Intel Atom N450, D410, or dual-core D510, and offers CompactFlash and SATA storage, Mini PCI expansion, dual gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and a serial port.

The multi-purpose PL-80190 can be used in embedded applications including print imaging, digital signage, retail and transaction solutions, thin clients, and industrial control, says Win Enterprises. The company is offering customers a choice of three of Intel's new "Pineview" Atom processors, which are all clocked at 1.66GHz and offer lower power consumption and smaller physical footprints than previous Atoms. In addition to the netbook-focused Atom N450, the PL-80190 supports the entry-level desktop-targeted D410 and the dual-core D510.

The PL-80190 supports up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, and offers a CompactFlash slot, two SATA ports, and a mounting kit for a 2.5-inch hard disk drive (HDD), says Win Enterprises. Mini-PCIe expansion is also said to be provided. The computer offers 18-bit LVDS, as well as dual simultaneous displays, and supports VGA resolution ranging up to 2048 x 1536 on the D410 or D510 models, says the company.

Equipped with dual gigabit Ethernet ports, the PL-80190 also supplies a serial port, as well as four USB 2.0 ports, two of them front-facing. Win Enterprises says the device can support six USB ports in all, suggesting that two more interfaces are available internally. Audio I/O and a VGA port provide audio/visual connections.

Optional heatsink

The fanless, "rugged" chassis has a sealed housing, and measures 7.2 x 4.1 x 2.5 inches, says Win Enteprises. The box PC is also said to feature an optional, top-mounted integral heat sink (pictured above). The PL-80190 supports several flavors of Linux and Windows, says the company.

The PL-80190 is available now for evaluation, says Win Enterprises. The company offered pricing only for the PL-8019B version, which includes the dual-core D510 Atom, and is said to cost $405 in OEM quantities. More information may be found here.
