The Eclipse consortium's C/C++ Development Tools (CDT) project announced the release of CDT 1.0, which includes a full-featured C/C++ development environment and debugger. Support for C and C++ in Eclipse — an open-source development tools framework — now rivals that for Java, which was the initially supported programming language when the project was launched by IBM, the group said. Stonestreet One and MontaVista Software announced that they are teaming up to provide Bluetooth support for embedded Linux based device designs in the consumer, automotive, aerospace, industrial, and medical device markets. The Bluetooth support comes in the form of Bluetopia, a BQB qualified Bluetooth protocol stack, which has been ported to many operating systems, including Linux, Stonestreet said. (more…)

IBM has developed a new Linux-powered storage controller capable of managing two petabytes of data, according to an article at ZDNet UK.
