3.5-inch SBC can take the heat
Mar 24, 2011 — by Eric Brown — from the LinuxDevices Archive — 2 viewsAxiomtek announced a 3.5-inch single board computer equipped with a 1.1GHz Intel Atom Z510PT processor and an operating range of -40 to 185 deg. F. The SBC84826 can use up to 2GB DDR2 memory, and offers Mini PCI Express expansion, gigabit and fast Ethernet, four USB 2.0 ports, and four serial ports, says the company.
The SBC84826 is best suited for unconstrained thermal environments in medical, industrial control, automation, and gaming applications, says Axiomtek. It follows in the footsteps of the SBC84823 single board computer (SBC) released in October 2009, which offered the same Intel Atom PT processors and industrial-grade temperature range. Differences include the addition of a 10/100 Ethernet port to join the earlier 10/100/1000 port.
