Axiomtek announced the upcoming availability of a 3.93 x 2.83-inch Pico-ITX single board computer (SBC) powered by either a single-core AMD G-Series T40R or dual-core T40E, each clocked at 1GHz. The Pico100 supports up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, features dual displays via an LVDS interface and either DisplayPort or VGA, and offers SATA, gigabit Ethernet, USB 2.0, and serial connectivity.

The Pico 100 was pre-announced in May when Axiomtek joined Amtek, DataKamp, and Ibase in vowing upcoming product support for AMD's second round of G-Series processors. On Dec. 13. Axiomtek announced that the SBC will finally begin shipping in January, equipped with AMD's 1GHz T40E (dual-core, 6.4 Watt TDP) or T40R (single-core, 5.5 Watt TDP) AMD G-Series processors.

The company offered no photos and less than full details in May, but now provides the full story. Adopting the Pico-ITX form-factor, the device measures a wee 3.94 x 2.83 inches (10 x 7.2cm), says the company. It is said to be aimed at fanless car PCs, in-flight entertainment systems, digital signage platforms, portable thin clients, and high-end medical imaging devices.

The SBC supports up to 4GB of DDR3 1066 memory via a SODIMM socket, says Axiomtek. A CompactFlash slot is said to be available for storage.
