PCI-104 SBC has DDR3 memory, choice of Atoms

Known as the PM-PV-N4551 or PM-DV-D5251, it accepts up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM, supports VGA and LVDS displays, includes four USB ports and two serial ports, and offers a CompactFlash slot, the company says.
IEI's product page and announcement refer to the PM-PV-N4551 and PM-DV-D5251 as PC/104 SBCs, but it's clear from supplied images (below) that the devices are actually PCI-104 products. That is to say, they lack any PCI-to-ISA bridge circuitry and have only a PCI bus interface.

According to IEI, the PM-PV-N4551 comes with Intel's single-core Atom N455, clocked at 1.66GHz, while the PM-PV-D5251 comes with the dual-core Atom D525. Also stocked with Intel's ICH8M I/O controller, the SBCs are said to accept up to 2GB of DDR3 memory via a single DIMM slot.

IEI supplied some interesting charts, which we have reproduced above, comparing the performance of the N455 and D525 to various earlier alternatives. It didn't say, however, whether these benchmark results are derived from tests of its own SBCs, or merely are derived from numbers supplied by Intel.
Touting power consumption that's 30 percent lower than devices equipped with DDR2 memory, IEI adds that its SBCs contain Intel's "third generation" GMA3150 graphics core, with MPEG2 hardware acceleration. Supported resolutions are up to 2046 x 1536 pixels for VGA monitors or 1366 x 768 pixels for LVDS displays, the company says.
Measuring 3.77 x 3.55 inches, the PM-PV-N4551 and PM-DV-D5251 are like other PCI-104 boards in that they provide a variety of headers for real-world expansion (a relevant cable kit is packed with the SBC). As pictured earlier in this story, interfaces include four USB 2.0 ports, an RS232 port, an RS232/422/485 port, LVDS, VGA, keyboard/mouse connectors, HD audio, and gigabit Ethernet.
According to IEI, the PM-PV-N4551 and PM-DV-D5251 have a single, 3Gb/sec. SATA port. They also support flash memory via a Type II CompactFlash slot (again, pictured earlier).
